Superman’s Trail Mix

We hope you’ll LOVE this trail mix as much as we do. It’s healthy, it provides great fuel and it’s calorie-dense. There’s just something about the crunchiness of the seeds, chewy sweetness of the dried fruits, and salty savoriness of the nuts. It will keep you going on the trails.

Mix it all in a bowl or directly in a zip bag.

1 1/2 cups almonds, pecans, cashews, walnuts
1 cup raw pumpkin seeds
1 cup unsweetened, unsulphured dried pineapple, goji berries
1/2 cup 55% Vegan cocoa chocolate chips
2 teaspoons of Spirulina Sprinkles

Superman’s Trail Mix got it’s name due to the spirulina sprinkles that’s added.

Of course you can customize your homemade trail mix to your needs and wants.
If you are feeling inspired to create your own recipe, here’s a few pointers.

1. Nuts: Cashews, almonds, pecans, walnuts, peanuts – Feel free to use any kind of nuts here. Ideally, purchase raw nuts or sprouted. You can dry roast them at home for an added toastiness.

2. Seeds: Pumpkin, sunflower, hemp – Don’t forget about seeds! Seeds are packed with fibers, protein, iron, magnesium and an array of vitamins and minerals.

3. Dried Fruit: Goji berries, pineapple, cranberries, banana chips, raisins – Because of the high sugar content in dried fruit, they’re a great snack to help boost your low blood sugar after physical activity. Be careful when picking dried fruit. Try to find sun dried fruit that isn’t coated in sugar and is ideally unsulfured. It’s more expensive, but it’s worth it.

4. Fun Stuff!: Chocolate chips, Spirulina Spinkles, pretzels, popcorn, wasabi peas, cacao nibs – feel free to add in a handful of your favorite decadent treat.
